What our teachers write about us

Testimonial

The Project Construct assessment system has given me a guideline to follow. It makes it easier to organize observations and direct individuals goals for the children. My children are interested in transportation vehicles, so I have now re-planned a unit to incorporate the children’s interest.

Project Construct allowed my kids to truly learn social skills. I teach in a district that has a very heavy ELL population. Some of these children came into my classroom not speaking English, and many came in with no independence because of their culture. Project Construct gave them so many ways to learn how to socialize with peers by working and playing together. It also allowed them to do things on their own to establish independence. I was amazed at how much and how quickly my children learned under the Project Construct curriculum.

Project Construct has helped me discover a whole new way to look at education. I love the idea of making play and learning meaningful together. My teaching has changed, and I have seen my students grow through the different ways I have brought Project Construct into the classroom.

It has been rewarding not only having research-based curriculum, but also a curriculum that is child-centered and driven by children’s needs and interests, not a ‘letter of the week’ curriculum or one that tells teachers exactly what to teach and when.

I have gained a wealth of knowledge professionally while on the constructivist journey. Project Construct has blessed me with a family of constructivist teachers with whom I may collaborate, plan, and grow alongside. Each new year I feel more confident when my first grade friends enter our room. I know that because of Project Construct and the training I’ve had, that our community will be a comfortable, safe environment full of problem-solvers, risk-takers, and genuine friends that care about each other, helping each other to be the best we can all be.

I love doing hands-on projects. The kids can really get involved and ‘play’ at their own pace. I find myself watching the kids more and just being there as a resource for them if they need anything. Being able to take them a notch higher than they are currently working is very rewarding. I see some of them being pushed to have to think in a different way than they had before. What a great job I have!
